I think that a person is proud of the rich culture and history, ethnicity,
people they were brought up around. And this in my eyes does incluce the
country. I was born in Canada, and raised here, but I do think that
Hungary is more precious than Canada. Not that I am ungreatful that
Canada took my parents in, but to be able to phisically see were they were
brought up and were they lived, still touches my heart. In a sence d.A.
is right it is not the Country you are proud of, but the people and the
heritage. But to call it something, we do tag it with a name, and this is
why we call our selves, Hungarians, or first generation Hungarians,
because we are proud of the background of the cultre.
Well, anyway, this is the way I see it.

Yes, in your cynical mind you could probably find an ulterior motive in
any human activity sooner or later. I have friends who believe the entire
Apollo program was a hoax, and that all the moon landings were staged in
some remote valley in New Mexico. Why? The won't say.
I don't know if anyone remembers, but a few years ago RFE went through a
critical period, when the question of its continued existence was debated
in congress. Many people (myself included) were convinced the State Depart-
ment broadcasting services should not get any more funding, since the ob-
jectives of their function no longer existed.
Recently I spent a couple of weeks in the Slovak town of Zilina. During
the political crisis surrounding the jr. Kovac's kidnapping investigation
RFE was the only consitent source of developments in the case. The Czech
media almost totally ignored the whole affair, as did the government con-
trolled Slovak TV and radio.

+ - Hungarian abbreviations (mind) VÁLASZ  Feladó: (cikkei)

Hello!

I have some trouble in finding out the long form of the following
hungarian abbreviations:

- APV Rt.
- AV Rt.
- AVÜ Rt.
- MSZP

I know the english and german translation (e. g. APV is the
privatisation organisation and MSZP a political party) but I need the
exact hungarian words for my studies at Cologne University.

If anyone can help me with this or forward any helpful info, I'd greatly
appreciate it.
Thank you in advance.
